The Epson stylus SX115 is the affordable All-in-One and the first in the range that doesn’t need PC-connectivity, enabling you to print photos from a memory card or pictBridge. Not only is it affordable in terms of its RRP but its running cost are reasonable too. Epson SX115 ink cartridges consist of four single printer ink cartridges, one for each colour which means you only need to change one cartridge at a time when it has run out of ink and this saves money over the tri-colour black cartridges found in some o fits competitor’s machines. Epson ink cartridges are known to by rather expensive but they are reasonably priced (for Epson ink cartridges) with a set costing under £30 from competitive retailers. As well as affordable original ink cartridges there are also compatible inks avaible for the Stylus SX115 which cost on average 50% less than the originals and yield the same number of pages. In terms of functionality the Stylus SX115 is a very versatile machine offering photo quality up to A4 borderless printing capabilities but also scanner and copying too. The printing and copying functions are a slightly compromised by the SX115’s lack of printing speed, its supposed to be able to print 34ppm (pages per minute) but in normal quality mode it only capable of around 4ppm. That said inkjets are not known for their speed it more important that the print quality is there and the SX115 certainly delivers in this area.
